I’m Danny Fontaine, web designer. I live in South London in a place called Kingston-Upon-Thames, but I have the pleasure of designing websites for people all over the world. Creative people. People with a vision, people with talent.

I design sites from scratch to make truly bespoke and original work. I don’t use templates, my sites are custom built to suit your brand and ethos.

The FrockChicks approached me for a re-brand and a new website. They needed a site to reflect just how stylish they are with galleries and special offers that they can update themselves, and full compatibility with smartphones, tablets, and across browsers.

Cheeky Frawg

Cheeky Frawg is a book publisher based in Florida, run by award-winning novelist Jeff Vandermeer. Cheeky Frawg books specialize in weird fantasy novels, and the website needed to reflect this. I came up with the concept of a dark room, inhabited by a certain Mr Odd (a character devised by Jeff) that uncovers secrets as the user explores with the mouse. It’s packed with easter eggs and surprises.

Neil Francis Dawson – Photographer

Neil is a professional photographer, currently first assistant to Rankin. His own photography is flawless and slick, specialising in beautiful editorial fashion. His site needed to match and is clean and clutter-free with complete focus on the photos themselves which resize automatically to your browser window for optimum viewing.

Julius Amedume – Film Director

Julius is an award-winning film director. He makes compelling films, often with very dark content. I wanted to portray the contrast of light and dark that his films have by making the website a combination of white spacious design, and dark content-full pages.

Chanel Boateng – Make-Up Artist

Chanel Boateng is a young and creative make-up artist. Her work has been featured in Vogue and she consistently produces vibrant, flawless and slick work as a make-up artist. She specifically wanted a Flash website that flowed beautifully with fades and subtle movement, as well as a gallery that is linked directly to her Flickr account, giving her complete control over updating the images on the site.

Tiny Wallops – Theatre Company

Tiny Wallops are pretty out-there. They are a 5 person comedy troupe that write and act in their own celebrated performance that travels across the UK. I really wanted to get the fun and humour across in their website, so I made a Flash site complete with animated characters and music, set in an old theatre environment. It’s also my own mini tribute to the great Monty Python-ite, Terry Gilliam.

Racoon is an events photography and videography company based in London. The web site had to house lots of content including portfolios of various photographers and showreels for videographers. The result is a clean and professional portal to their services with javascript slideshows to ensure cross browser, smartphone and tablet compatibility.

Sareta Gabriel – Make-Up Artist

Sareta Gabriel is one of the top make-up artists in the industry. She has worked with many celebrities such as Ms. Dynamite, Booty Love, Katy B, and worked for MTV, the BBC and The Guardian.

Sareta needed a powerful and creative website that made a big first impression and showed off her work, but she also needed a site that she could update regularly herself with photos and videos as well as an integrated blog.

The Horns Of Fury – Band

You might notice that there’s no testimonial on the right…that’s because this is my band. The site was built in WordPress giving all 7 members access to login and blog or change details from any computer in the world. I also used widgets from www.reverbnation.com so that we can update our shows and music in one place and have them dynamically updated on the web site!
